I would also replace the relays in your fuse panel, sometimes from washing the bike they go bad and get stuck in the open position and will cause a drain, load the new ones up with some dielectric grease. Been seeing this a lot lately.

AL

OH AND DEFINITELY GET A BATTERY TENDER JUNIOR ON THAT BIKE AT ALL TIMES WHILE IT'S SITTING, THATS #1

+1 on the battery tender and keeping the relay connections dry and clean, but it's also definitely worth checking the ground cable where it attaches to the crank-case. In my case, the nut securing the cable was nice and tight, but the bolt wasn't, so when I attempted to tighten or loosen it, the entire thing moved, and I had to remove the battery, then play the 'turn the bolt and cable at the same time' game until I got the thing out. The bolt is now very firmly mounted to the case, the cable and nut are nice and tight, and the intermittent starting problems are all gone.

IT WAS THE COLD, I got the heater on last night and she started right up. this morning she started right up too. I'm glad to because its supposed to hit 60 this afternoon. This NJ weather is crazy

oh and I don't wash my bike with a hose, the only water that hits it is rain or puddles. I use pledge to clean her up

Just an update, Battery scared me a couple days almost leaving me hanging. (And that's after I bought the tender and have been keeping it on it)
tonight I'm taking it in for a load test and probably buying a new battery. 3 years of abuse is ok in my book.

If the parts store tested the battery and said it was bad, you need a need a new battery. A charger will charge it, but if its bad, it won't hold the charge.
