Debating on selling my Nightster....
#22
Street I posted the story with that on the first page at that point the tank wasn't even mounted it was just sitting on the backbone of the frame. I do know quite a bit about the Post 9/11 GI bill but, that takes time to come into effect once you start the paper work to get anything from it. Yes you do get E5 with dependents BAH rate for the area you are living in once it does kick in. My concern isn't that it won't cover my expenses. I am concerned about the time between my ETS and the time till the GI bill kicks in. Right now I am ahead of payments by nearly a year and have about $2k left on the loan.
File the paper work today and in a few weeks you'll have your approval paperwork. Take that to the VA office in your school and you're done.
Start of the semester the money will be running in. One area you do have to be careful is that the payments are prorated. You won't get the full BAH if your classes start anytime after the 1st of the month.
You can use this site to calculate how much you can expect to collect in the area you intend to go to school. http://newgibill.org/calculator/
If you're that close to paying the bike off, I'd keep it. I only have my bike (thanks to Florida's weather) and I save much more money in insurance and gas than I would with a car.

A - How practical is it for you to bring your Nightster to where you will be moving?
Also don't forget about parking, insurance, thieft rate.
B- Sell, take your loss and complete college.
Will you need transportation at school or is everything within walking distance?
The Nightster will be a memory and one of the dozens of bikes you may own in your lifetime.
C - Motorbikes are great for a college town.
Can always buy another one.
Can always buy a used Yamaha for Phily.
FWIW. I have seen a television show "Parking Wars". Is that in Phily? Hell, the way that city is I would consider not owning a vehicle.

Turn the actual school is in Media, PA but, I've been looking anywhere between South Philly and Wilmington. Since North Wilmington is only about 10miles from the school and Delaware is tax free. I want to try and live as close as I can to the school but, I won't argue with a little bit of a drive if where ever I am living is worth it. Thanks for the site Wahlum.

6 1/2 years? You'll still have 1 1/2 years on the inactive reserve roster. Hope they don't call that one in!!
