Well today my daughter bought her first bike. A 2012 883 Iron. She was going to get a Ninja 650 then I talked her into looking at the Iron and she fell in love with it. She will have the bike delivered in 2 months after she completes the Riders Edge course. Now we are a 3 Harley family.

 

Congrats, I know how you feel. My son went from a GSXR to a Sporster 1200 Custom in May. Then we rode from NC to RI together. Our first bike trip together.

 

Makes it nice you can ride as a family. Cool Deal.

 

I remember wanting to get a "crotch rocket" about 22 years ago. Went with my buddy to the Harley shop, walked behind a black Sportster, and fell in love. What a gorgeous profile.

Still have her 22 years later, best purchase I've ever made.

I love sport bikes, but the Ninja 650 is not one LOL! I would say the Iron is a much cooler bike than the 650. Hope she enjoys it.

 

I had a 650r, it was kick ***. They are building them into dirt trackers, they have a parallel twin, like the xs or triumphs the motor actually has some ***** to it. It would be cool to build a bobber out of one and embarrass a sporty.

 

Very cool. Great looking bike. I would be beaming with pride myself.

 

my buddy in ct has one of those. he's a maniac on that thing. impossible to keep up with on my 1200.

It would be great to ride with her one day. She lives out in Cali and I am up in Wisconsin. One of these days me and the wife may take a vacation and ride out there instead of taking a flight.
