Default How hot is too hot??

So ive decided to start looking for an exhaust for my nightster. I've come across D&D bobcats and like the look of them but i also have a solo bag on the exhaust side of the bike. I found one picture that shows what I'm talking about. The exhaust is going to come into contact with the bag. Is this going to ruin my licks solo bag? Anyone have these pipes, how hot do they get or do they have some kind of heat shield on them? any help would be great.

Yeah. Pipes will melt the leather right to 'em. It will ruin the bag, and it's a son of a bitch to clean off the pipes.

i know it sucks but you could buy another bag for the other side... i mean, the d&d is sick! i would make the sacrifice on the extra $ and spring for a new bad and the bobcat!

That's defiantly not what i wanted to hear lol. I do have a bag for both sides. im just concerned with any paint that might of been worn from the bag. Any ideas how to protect the bag if i decided to keep the bag on there?

The exhaust looks great, but most of the solo bags I have seen mount to the other side for just this reason. It really looks like there is just not enough room to have them both.
