Does anyone else hate the risers on the customs?
Since I've had my bike, I had a strong dislike for the risers and handlebar setup? Anyone else share this?-
To me, the only bars that I can get to look good are drag bars. The problem was, I installed drag bars, but I felt too hunched over the tank. The solution-install taller risers. Of course that meant removing the riser cover, which left this mess to deal with-
I almost aborted mission right there, but decided to forge ahead. First I tore off all the old stuff-
Then, I bought some taller risers. I installed them backwards, so I could mount my speedo on top, and my dummy lights on the bottom. After mockup, I thought it looked better this way. I had to flip the speedo in the housing, and rotate 180*. Little work involved there. Also had to flip the insert for the dummy lights. Had to also flip some of the lights, the 4 outer ones. I decided to run my wiring inside the bars, to the center, so I drilled 3 holes-
I took a break for a couple nights. Next up is to run the wiring in the bars. Then I need to cut out all the wiring harnesses that are between the risers. Going to solder all the wiring, then heatshrink it all as one bundle. Going to be some time involved here. Wish me luck

Thanks for posting your pics of this mod. If I decide to go with a different riser set up it's nice to know that this configuration is do-able.
Hope you have easy sailin' on your wiring project.
