Default My girl wants to put a windshield on her Sporty - whatcha got?

She rides an '09 1200 custom and is thinking about the one from HD with quick release.

For a little while I had a "vest" or short shield on my Sporty but I didn't really care for it. That is all the experience we have though. She figures if she's going to have one she might as well have a full sized one.

What do you guys have? Like/dislike?

Dude those saddlebags are the sh*t! Is that the full HD shield? Have you had others? What do you think about it?

HD full shield - wife's bike, never rides without it - loves the bags

I have that H-D QD shield just because my bike came with it. Really...it's trick as hell how quickly and solidly it mounts and works, but I just can't bring myself to use it now that I also added a full face helmet option. I may end up offloading it because they are damned expensive IIRC.

The only windshield I would put on a sporty is a 14" tinted windvest. They are a bit pricey, but they look like they are part of the bike and they will take just as much wind off her chest as the bigger windshields.

Here is a pic

I have and am not fond of the HD quick release. I am going to buy a ClearView windshield as it allows the wind to go up and over my head. The riding should be more enjoyable without getting fatigued by the wind hitting my face. Check them out!

I have the HD quick release windshield because it came with my bike when I bought it. I didn't think that I would like it, but I have found that it is great on the highway and I also like it when riding in cold weather. It really cuts down on the wind chill. The thing comes off or goes on in less than a minute and is very sturdy. I still prefer the way the bike looks without it, but I use it a lot more than I thought I would, and I'm glad I have it.
