What is the comfort level of a drag bar compared to the stock bars.I have a 06 1200c.Really like the look of the drag bars but don't want to change my stock risers any suggestions on certain bars to look at or if anyone has any pictures of there bikes with them on would be appreciated.

I like them and they cause me no discomfort.

 

I think it's more comfortable than the goofy angle the stock bars put your hands/wrists at.

 

 

You can sit on your bike and try the position, imagine that you have a dragbar installed. I don't see a big problem since you have the pullback riser, the dragbar may be sitting a bit lower than the stock one, that's all. I like the straight 6" risers, so I have to give up the comfort for the look, if I get the pullback riser, I am sure it will be more comfortable. So far I am really happy with the riding position and it looks good. If you are going to use risers lower than 4", I bet you will be hurting your back for sure, I think the low risers are good only if you have mid control not forward. Just my opinion. [:-]Alex

 

XL OCD what type of bars are on your bike.

 

Those are HD bars that are stock on the 01 Sporty Custom. Love 'em.

 

OMG, laughing my firken *** off here, that was an awesome response and quite timely.

I agree 100%, but to answer the poor guys question, think of it this way. When you ride with stock pullback bars, notice how your elbows are always bent , as are your wrists. Now picture moving 2 inches forward with your hands, and then two inches down. Your posture changes very little, but your arms will straighten out and for some, this is more comfortable, unless you suffer from lower back pain wher you like to be bunched up. I like the stretched out look a bit, and this change is not that radical in comfort or position, just a few inches.

 

I think there more comfy than the stock bars, they're wider as well.

 

I'd say they are not more "comfy" that my stock bars were. Drag bars have you leaning in a more forward and lower position. More weight on your wrists, etc. But I love the look and style of them so much, I got used to the new riding position fairly quickly. I'll never go back.

I knew when I bought the bike that I was going to swap out the bars soon. I went with 32" wide drag bars.
