In all honesty, if I were younger and did not have a bad shoulder, I would still be riding a bagger. That being said, I really enjoy my Forty-Eight.

I got my 06 in 08. It was my first bike. I learned on it. I dropped it. I rode it across the country. I chopped the heck out of it. I love it. It's almost paid off. I don't plan on ever getting rid of my FIRST bike

I'd really like one I could comfortably cruise 75-80 with, and my '00 883 definitely isn't it; otherwise I really like it. I might be satisfied with a newer, rubber mount 1200, but am currently thinking more like a Super Glide. Or put a V twin in my Helix...

I'm kind of growing fond of the '12 Sporty '72: http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...venty-two.html

no point in trading for another sportster really, if you have a 883 its cheaper to convery to 1200, so then you upgrade...

That's EXACTLY the right way to do it! Yah need a bigger bike for touring + while they're very comfortable + stable at highway speeds, they just AIN'T as much fun to ride.

I want something bigger for long rides with the wife. Had my eye on a couple bigger bikes this past year, but I would have to sell the Sporty to offset the cost. Just couldn't do it. Starting to lean toward only upgrading, when I can afford to keep the Sporty too.

Unless you have a solid mount engine and want to get rid of the vibration (some of it, anyway). I'd happily "1200" my '00 883, except for that. If I could get a newer 883 for the right price, I might go for it and put in a little more than a simple 1200 upgrade; a "fast" Harley would be fun. At my age and condition, a more or less stock 1200 might be a better idea... but I was thinking along those lines when I got the 883.
