Default Looking to buy a 2012 Forty-Eight

Hello all,

I am just curious what some might think of the pricing I have been offered at my local H-D dealership.

Model: 2012 Forty-Eight (Brand New)

Base: $10,499.00

Plus: Factory Installed Security Option
Freight
Prep

TOTAL: $11,399.00

The salesman offered it to me, OTD, for $10,499.00

I am wondering if I should try to negotiate the price down a bit more, or just let it ride? (I should also mention that I do have a good relationship with the gentlemen I have been dealing with, and am inclined to purchase the bike there.)

Thanks guys (and gals)!

Thats about the deal I got on my 2011 but my difference was made up with an in store credit of $850. So I paid MSRP and got the credit.

Yep.. I paid just about the same for my 2011 48 last August. Maybe just a hair less. I don't think there is much mark up on a 48 to begin with. Try to negotiate a free 1000 mile servicing. And of course a couple free t-shirts.

Seems reasonable. What they said above, try and get some in-store credit or maintenance covered with that price.

When I bought my 1200C back in 09, the base price was $9,999. The dealer covered about $900 worth of accessories I added on, so it was a good deal.

That's about right. You might try asking for a free 1,000 service. Ask for 3-4 t-shirts.

so they ae basically giving you a $900 discount, a free service is a great thing because it saves you lots of money and keeps your warrenty intact without questions.

That's because $900 in accessories to THEM is equivilalent to an actual $12 THEIR cost.

Yeah good point. But that was the best deal locally I got. All of the other dealers I went to wouldn't budge off the listed price.

I bought my 2011 in November and paid $9900- then added the alarm to it, so it's reasonable. Ask them to throw the alarm in for free. It's only a few hundred bucks. OR you could do what I did, and get the stage I done before delivery, and get a deal on the package. They might bite at that, and you'll be happy with the outcome.
