so now that the first one is done ,I'm back on the sporty i started for a buddy of mine as an off hours project .Its morphed a few times as you can see but i think i finally have a design planned and even a paint scheme which i usually dont come up with until the last second .Its 12:39 am and I'm on my way to the shop right now to work on it cuz I'm kinda bored and anxious .ha

few more pics ,killed most of the oil tank ideas i had for good reasons .

 

this is the oil tank /battery box idea i have .Kind of like an old tracker .

Im going to have it split with the batt on the top and the oil tank will be the rest of the bottom with hard lines coming out the side vertically .It should be a good canvass for paint and act as the lower half of the rear fender .I know its not everyones cup -o- tea but I've been thinking of going this route for some time.


Going to go with the same style seat pan my fabricator buddy made on the last sporty and the rear fender is a spare tire cover from an old car .

i will be making all my own pieces (i paint i dont weld very well ) but i will get him to final tig weld all of my mess so that the oil tank is a tank ....not a strainer .ha


BTW ignore the rear wheel its just there for the bike to sit on something ,im going with a 17" dyna stocker spoke on white wall

hammerd away at the fab work.

ditched the tracker oil tank and went with a chassis design piece,made bungs welded in done .Mocked up the exhaust ,installed headlight .

pretty much getting the look .tomorow ill do the batt box and plate mount

the helmet is the design i did for someone else but will use it for the tank design

thanks for the compliments ,just waiting on my rear fender and ebay 16" wheel so i can wrap up the back end then i should be in paint by next week
