Default Good Deal?

I am helping my buddy buy a new cycle & we stopped by Harley and got this quote for a 2012 Nightster 1200 with pipes, heat shields and 2up seat.= $129 per month for 60 months with 5k down in way of a trade. his is @ 12.50% rate

This was not the original quote= $157 but i beat them down (i used to sell cars)

Do you guys think this is a good deal?

side note.. they have a 2011 nightster (but not the color he wants) they would do for $119 with pipes, heat shield, 2 up seat or $109 stock with no pipes etc...

Thanks

That is through Hd.. They said 13.99 first. I talked them down to 12.50... a tier 1 credit right now with Hd gets you 9.50%... which I still think sucks.. he is also looking @ a Honda Shadow and they are saying 2.99%.. but he likes the HD better and I agree (i own a shadow)

When I bought mine last August, I went in pre-approved for a loan from a local credit union with a 3.5% apr. while at the dealer they had me talk to the finance guy and he got me a rate of 3.25% through their financing partner. Not much difference in rate and didn't change monthly payment much, but it also came with a life insurance policy.

Also, hard to tell if it is a good deal without knowing the OTD price. For that high of a pmt with 5k down.... Doesn't sound like that great of a deal to me.

What da note be? Ill never understand why people do that. How much are they selling him the bike for? Everything else is secondary.

129 x 60 = $7,740 + $5,000 trade = $12,740, why not sell the trade and pick up one of the many near new 1200's that can be had right around $5,000 give or take a little?

I was in the Glasgow HD (westcoastharley) and looking at the 2012 (new) Nightster Demon black with the below would cost me 9-10k or 3k down and £128 per months (think this was on a 4 year) with 2 free services (cost around £300-£350 mark they told me)
  • Stage#1 tuned 1200cc v-twin
  • Screamin Eagle Pro Tuner
  • Screamin Eagle Air Filter
  • Vance & Hines Black Slip Ons
  • Black Bullet style downpipes
  • Silver Satin Finished Flush Fuel Cap
  • Heated Grips
kinda the same as one they are selling ex company Nightster 2011 with 2k on the clock for £8,250.

But i have sins seen the 48 on HD website and going to see if i can get a test drive on one before i make up my mind on what one i will take. also have a friend that is looking to buy his 2nd bike so we are going to try and buy together and see if we get a better deal.
