Default My Sporty Squeaks!

When I push the bike out of the garage or coast to a stop at the lights I can hear an embarassing squeak! I think it is wheel related as it is only when the bike moves and the engine is not revving (no brakes applied). Any ideas guys?

Check your belt alignment.

Check the swingarm bushings-- have you washed the bike or driven it in the rain recently?

Another question, have you changed your brake pads/did break maintenance recently?

Have ridden quite a bit in rain and washed the bike often. No brake maintenance since it started squeaking. Sounds if it needs a squirt of WD40 somewhere!

I know that my bike squeaks while taking it out of the garage. I've pinpointed that to be somewhere around the rear suspension as I can recreate it by bouncing on the seat a bit.

Does it happen when you do that or only when rolling?

I've had it squeak while rolling to a stop and after a while it went away. I took it as the brakes rubbing on the rotor (which is normal) and a build up of brake dust/dirt.....

I have the same thing happen from time to time, but it only happens when I'm slowing to a stop and have the throttle rolled off. I've found that if I clean the belt with a brush and soapy mix it goes away. I usually do this when I have the back wheel off for cleaning since it's much easier to access the belt and dry it.

If this noise is happening when you push the bike (engine not running) then something may be rubbing as suggested by other posters.
