My sportster has forward controls and I recently picked up a set of mids to try. First, I thought I would try just adding the mid foot pegs, but the '96 footrest support can not coexist with the forward shifter, but a 2004+ footrest support could. The '96 footrest support goes up, then away from the bike, while the 2004+ support goes way from the bike, then up.

Does anyone know if a footrest support from a 2004+ sportster would fit on a '96?

Here's a picture in case it helps - you can see the forward control shift lever directly above the footrest support mount point.

 

Had to buy one to be sure.
