when you get this problem fixed watch for the old match stick in lock trick.!! (paper matches with head torn off)
on mine i never use the damn thing for fear it will screw up on a road trip.
so if they want my bike take it but dont let me see you doing it. i have a dark side

Just watched your video. Went out and checked my sporty. My key does the same as yours...goes further into the ignition than the fork lock.
Something is definitely wrong with being able to turn it as far as you can and then it stops.
This is out of left field...but have you checked your clutch cable to make sure it is not hanging up on something prevented the bars from turning all the way to the right?
If it is the fork lock stopping it...seems like maybe someone really yanked on it and partially broke it???
Anyway, I noticed in your video that when you were trying to turn the key in the fork lock you were not moving the handlebars around....I would try that and see if there is not a spot you can move the handlebars to that releases the tension that is keeping the key from turning.
I'm interested in hearing what you find out when you get it fixed.

Yes DK we've tried that already... unfortunately no luck! I'm going to take it to the dealer tomorrow to see what's going on. I will keep you posted on what's going on! I'm not going into late morning so I will definitely be reading other people's opinions in here before I go!
Thank you for watching the video and trying to help me... I really appreciate it

Hey Nixon -
The video is great. Here are my thoughts:
(p.s. - Cheer-up. You'll get this figured-out. You have a nice bike, a wife that shares your interest, and you are looking forward to 65 - 70 degree weather all week.)
The video is great. Here are my thoughts:
- I didn't see any scratches or damage around the lock, so I'd guess that this wasn't vandalized in the last 24 hours, but rather a lock issue.
- Do you have a second key? If so, perhaps you can give it a try. One of mine works a bit better than the other.
- Can you contact the previous owner? Maybe he/she can provide some insight.
- I didn't see you try it in the video, but you did try to only slightly turn the forks and then turn the key to the right, correct?
