Default Identify this wheel please

I have a 02 XLH and I'd like to put these wheels on my sportster. My intention is to paint them both black, like the rear one, but I'd like to know for sure that they'll fit before I buy them, paint them, and have tires installed. Can anyone help a newb?

They look to be the generic 9-spoke cast wheels from a myriad of model years. The only way to be sure if they fit is to measure the bearings to see if they fit with your axle.

Both your front and rear axles are 3/4", so the bearings would have to match. The next would be to double check the width/offset of the hub when compared to your current wheels. Chances are you will be ok on the hub because those rarely changed on the sportster.

^ +1, if the front wheel is drilled on both sides for a brake rotor it would narrow it down to a 883R or a 1200 Roadster.

the seller says the rear is 1" and the front is 3/4". Does that sound right? It has me guessing from previous posts that they won't fit my '02. Also said they were on an '80 ironhead but was told they came off a mid ninety model sportster.

NOW the dude says he was guessing at the bearing sizes, so he checked them. Told him mine were 3/4". He says these are both 3/4" too.
-why guess??? geez!! Plus they're supposedly both ball bearing style, like mine too. Also, drilled on both sides of the front wheel for a rotor.

His flip flopping tells me that you probably should find somewhere else to buy. You can always do a bearing swap, but if you're looking for bolt on ease then I would be wary. It sounds like he is just telling you what you want to hear to get it sold.

I wondered about the whole flip flopping on the bearing sizes too. I've asked him to send me pics of him measuring the bearing sizes with calipers. He says he will send me some. And he apologized for guessing on the bearing sizes. ??? We'll see.
