You need plenty of room to get in to strip the motor down and rebuild it. Leaving the headers on the bike is a recipe for making life more difficult! Take stuff off to give yourself elbow room. You made a good choice with NRHS from what I have read and heard, so good luck with your project.

I just wish I had a bit more cash right now so that I could do my heads and cams at the same time. That will probably be next years project.

I am looking forward to using the SEPST and seeing how the bike runs on it. I do plan on have it dyno tuned eventually but I want to try the smart tune feature and see how it works.

I bought my SEPST today including cable kit and CD software off of ebay.

So far including shipping and currency conversion, the NRHS kit (including top end gaskets) and SEPST kit has cost me slightly less than the Screamin Eagle conversion kit. Of course the SE kit includes 1200 heads and I am using my stock heads, but if I had gone the SE conversion route, I would still have had to buy a tuner or the Stage one download from the HD dealer and the dealer wants $300 just for a one time stage one download here in Canada. Too bad I waited so long, a few months ago, it would have been slightly cheaper since our Canadian dollar was worth more than the US.

Only thing left on my list to pick up is a stage one air cleaner, HD service manual, oil and filter.

All the necessary parts are now ordered, just bought the manual and AC. Now I just have to wait for all the parts to arrive.

When I start the conversion I will also start a new thread documenting how it goes.
