Default Latest Ironhead: 'Mele'

You guys are going to dig this one... We did a total teardown of a '79 and we're hardtailing and stretching the frame 6." The frame is all custom from the upper-rear motor mount back. The Ironhead is built-up with hot cams, ported heads, Mikuni carb, etc.

If you're into Facebook and Twitter, you can follow the progress behind the scenes.

Here's a pic of the frame during mock-up. It has a temp. support tube to keep the geometry correct while welding. Later came the final down tube to connect the top and bottom rails. It's now done and back from powdercoat, looks killer.

Cool, man. I don't do Facebook, so I hope you post here some more. I've checked out your work before and you guys build some really sweet rides.

Thanks Scuba! Ok, here's a few pictures of some small stuff going on. We posted them on Facebook already but here goes:

Here's the frame with a little more mock-up going on and before gussets and tons of TIG welding...

We make our own clip-ons for narrow glide 35mm forks, fitting on the jig:

Breaking down the rockers so we could do a full polish:

Going through the Mikuni, cleaning and making some tuning adjustments:

Building the wheels, getting them dialed in to run super smooth:
