I saw a Triumph this morning in my work's parking lot that said "Digital Fuel Injection" along the side. Basically another way to say "Electric Fuel Injection" but saying "digital" has the connotation (somewhat) that there was an "analog" that came before it. I'm thinking all of the carb'd bikes should be called "Analog Fuel Injection Bikes" now. Sounds fancy.

75 to 79 fuel injected Cadillacs used a crude analog computer to run the injection, in 1980 they switched to a digital computer,, so there was analog fuel injection. Doubt if anyone has used it since.

That makes more sense. I was born in '87 so that technology came and went before I was even a sparkle in my father's...eye. I retract my original post.
My 99 VW diesel has an analog injection system. Actually its mechanical................about as analog as you can get
Wow, I knew diesels have always used injection, long before digital computers, but I thought all manufacturers had upgraded their diesels to digital a long time ago.
Older Corvettes and Impalas had mechanical fuel injection, early Porsches too.
I assume that would be "analog" FI.

Quite right. Munch Mammut motorcycles had Bosch mechanical injection back in the early 70s, as an option. Cost about half as much extra as the whole bike! It used a piston/crank pump, similar to diesels of the time, to inject gas into the inlet manifold.
Chevrolet were fitting mechanical fuel injection systems to corvettes back in the 50's as a performance option.
Modern electronic/digital systems have an on board computer that can monitor and continually adjust the fuel/air settings giving better performance and greater fuel economy.
