ANYBODY EVER DONE A FAT TIRE 250 on a Sportster?

The belt pulleys hang way out there. The most common chain conversion uses a 530 and they're heavy. One thing you must consider is how much do you ride it? If you're putting any real miles on your bike expect parts to wear out. The shaft the pulley (or sprocket) attaches to is only supported on one side. I didn't watch that video, I was immediately annoyed about how important it is to get the right size wheel bearings...so I didn't see his front pulley but for your bike to live a long, trouble free life you'll have to have a shaft machined that extends through the pulley and has a right side bearing support.
Alot of these bikes with wide tires are for looks and hardly ridden.
Here's one I worked on. I like it...just causes problems.

Being an avid builder and rider like most of us here, it is very possible to do that type of conversion to your Sportster. It's just going to take money, time, going from belt to chain and lots of patience.
Take your time and build it right the first time. There are some decent kits out there to make your conversion.
