Default fat tire - lets try this......

ok - lets try this - how BIG a rear tire can one go on a 2008 Sporty XL with
a NON STOCK fender, and a NON STOCK rim.

i have read a 16 on this forum - with a STOCK fender - not interested in that -

no change of bolts - would do new fender supports tho - how wide can I squeeeeze a larger tire up that rear?

I doubt anyone knows to be honest. I know you could probably go wider with a chain conversion. if you chopping the struts then you are really just limited to how wide your swingarm is

if you're deadset on the look of a 250 and the crappy ride it's gonna give you than go with one of the wide tire kits previously mentioned. if you're gonna stay with the stock swingarm, you're limited up to like a 180mm rear tire but you'll have to make mods to the frame and **** to make it fit, chain drive etc. check this guy out on youtube, he did it with his stock swinger and it turned out pretty good. he also got a stock sporty fender and chopped it up to make it fit. good luck, happy chopping!

I would assume if it was a little older then the rear would be slightly "less wide" but it seems simple, chain drive, wider rim, new tire and well grinding. doesn't seem terribly hard
