Question ? rear master cylinder bracket removal ?

Happy New Year!
I'd like to change my rear master cylinder support bracket to a chrome one vs. the painted gray one I have now. I took a look at it and it seems relatively straight forward, however, having never done it, its always wise to ask prior to doing so. Can I simply remove the 2 bolts holding the cylinder to the brace, then remove the main bolt holding the bracket to the belt cover, and assemble in reverse order? Or am I going to cause some sort of unknown issue? I have forward controls if that matters. I'd rather not start some sort of leak or brake issue. Any input is appreciated!!
Thanks everyone!

Yeah it's that easy but the front bolt has a nut on the backside that you'll have to remove the sprocket cover to get to. The bolts that hold the cover on are different lengths so pay attention to where they go.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread. But, mreed is that bracket very important? I just put forwards on mine and didn't get the allen head bolt that goes there. So I didn't put the bracket back on. but I do still have it. And is there any other way I can go with out the pulley cover and mount the brake cylinder in that same area?

Thank you for the heads-up. Any possibility of getting a wrench on the backside of it without removing the cover?

It's pretty easy to take off. Once you disconnect the brake pedal from the master you can remove the small hex head screw that holds the hard brake line against that cover and then just lay your master cylinder to the side. It won't spill if the lid is on properly. Notice the word properly instead of tight. You can overtorque the lid bolts. On most of the ones I've removed there was a retaining cotter pin in that bolt that needs to be removed first. And the nut is kind of recessed enough to need a socket instead of a wrench.

That bracket is supposed to help spread the torque from applying the brakes but unless you're doing BMX style power slides I don't think it's a problem to not have it. You can mount the master cylinder anywhere in line from where it is. You'll just have to get creative. I moved the one in my sig pic forward and mounted it to the cam cover.

I replaced mine with a chrome piece. You can barley see it, but I knew it wasn't chrome. SO I replace it
