I put the registration and insurance card in a ziplock baggie, rolled it up and slid it in. I had been keeping my "papers" in a baggie taped to the inside of the battery cover. Thought this might be a better option.
If I have to get to my papers, I always carry a leatherman, so it's no problem getting the acorn nut off.
Tucks in real nice right behind the laydown tag.
I think I spent about $6.00 and scrounged the piece of tubing.

Forget all your worries about gaining access to our stash. Go out and buy one of these, maybe the same time you buy the other parts:

Then when you go out and buy the caps for the stash holder, that dmooth came up with, make sure you purchase a cap size that will fit the tube you have purchase like the one in the link. This way you can easily gain access to your stash with no tools, or unscrewing of wing nut, etc. etc. Just compress tube to remove, open up and pull our your little plastic bag of stash from inside the spring.

Heck, it's just as easy as changing your toilet paper at home. What's that you say, you don't ever change the toilet paper at home? What are you a lazy a%%?

Nice modification of a great idea. Two "L" brackets, two copper caps, bolts and cap nuts, toilet roll holder. Simple and effective.
