Took your advice and soldered the nuts the the inside of the caps. Had to trim the ears on the thumb screws a little, but it works fine. Looking for some brass thumb screws. Thanks....

I was imagining something more like this. I would think Home Depot would carry something like this.

Yep, I had forgotten about that type of thumb screw until I started doing the google search, I'm on the hunt in the morning for that type of thumbscrew, should work perfectly.

While your out, grab a spray can of clear coat to keep it looking nice without the need to be polishing it periodically.

Did mine a bit different, wing nut on the left. When you loosen a bit and relieve the pressure the cap slides right off. It's as waterproof as it needs to be. Thanks for the idea.

Looks good! what did you use to mount it to the tag? Looks like the OP used some small "L" brackets..

I was at the local aftermarket shop and found a pair of "b" brackets, kind of like a wire loom clamp. They had no part # on the package but were Custom Chrome and hanging in the exhaust section. Fit the caps perfect.

In the movie Easy Rider, he just used a big vinyl hose with a couple of corks and stuff his stash in the tank tube. Just saying.
