Question Ricor Intiminators: Best used with Stock Springs or Progressive?

I just ordered a set of the Intiminators and I also have a free pair of Progressive Springs on the way (they were a freebee with my 440's).

I have been reading a few threads and it seems like the stock springs with the Intiminators might be the best combination.

Just wondering if anyone has experience using both setups. If not I might just try them both for a month or two to compare and post back the results. Don't hold your breath though, we are talking next Summer

Also wondering if I should go 5W or 7W for the oil. Ricor recommends the 5W Amsoil, just looking for recommendations on that as well.

Thanks and MC & a HNY

ETA: I see people mentioning they paid $300 for these not long ago. They are $179.99 currently.

I used the 5 wt and stock springs. Did wonders for the suspension. Good luck.

Thanks. I have since learned that the 7W is for the BT's. I ordered a qt of the 5W Amsoil Shock Therapy.

If you have them, I'd put them in. I did the Ricors and Progressive's in my 06 Sporty and liked it so good that I went the same route in my FX.

I can't image the stock springs being too good for anyone over 150 lb. or so. The stock springs in my wife's Yam TT-R 125LE dirtbike were more substantial than these are. Not sure how the drop-in gadgets impact things, but with a stronger spring I would think you would also want a heavier oil. I just did Progressive springs with a 10-12 wt. (Mobil-1 ATF) and love it. (210 lb.)

If I was just doing the springs I'd go 10W but the Intiminators are basically a valve and need the 5W to function properly.

I emailed Brian at Ricor and he suggested going with the Progressives based on my weight being 250 lbs.
