It seems high for just pipes, air cleaner & tuner, should be more like mid to high 70's.
Mid 80's ususlly requires cams, headwork, fancy pistons and lots of dyno time.

When I get a chance I plan on finding out what other Sportsters are doing on this same dyno and seeing if they have any stock baseline runs and how those numbers compare to different dynos. Everything Ive read/seen says I should be about 10 hp & tq less than this.

All dyno's are going to be a little different on their readings. The climate also has some play in how the bike tunes. The guy that tuned my bike said he prefers tuning in the middle of the summer because the bikes seem to run better all year round. Since it was a little cooler outside when he tuned mine he said I may have some small issues when it gets hotter outside.

This subject line reminds me of my ex-wife's somewhat regular "Do these jeans make my *** look fat?" Notice I said "ex-wife". I cannot tell a lie.

The only proper response to that question is:
"No, your fat makes your *** look fat."

I would question the accuracy of that dyno, you are around 10HP higher than you should be. If that tech thinks he's really getting those numbers, I would go somewhere else. And if he told you he could get those numbers with just a Stage 1, someone is manipulating the dyno, or there is something wrong with it.

Dyno results will vary from machine to machine and even vary on the same machine a little bit because of variances in testing conditions, but there's no way it should be that far off.

It'll probably be after the holidays before I can get over there and ask about it. I'm not really too concerned about the numbers, the bike runs better than it ever has.

I don't like dealers that give a jacked up dyno chart to make you feel like you got your money's worth, (our local dealer does this also) if you want to really know what it's doing take it to an indy and have it repulled.
