Default 09 883 Iron pipes on 95 1200 Sportster

Sorry if this is plain silly,
But I was looking to get rid of my stock pipes(09 Iron 883) and was wondering, If I could give them to this lad who has a 95 sportster 1200.....Would the pipes be compatable if they could be mounted or would the bigger engine size rule out the possiblity of using them? Thanks, I not sure which 95 Sportster he has, just a lad who gave me a ring though an advert.

They will fit but his rear brake master cylinder may be in the way of the front pipe.

Thanks Mreed, so the extra CC of the 1200 over the 883 wouldn't affect the pipes, they would be ok on the larger engine.

I forgot about the crossover tube on the 04 & up stock pipes. The bracket for the 04 & up pipes doubles as the crossover tubes and ultimately mounts to the motor since they're rubbermount. You don't need the crossover tube but will need to seal the holes somehow. The crossover holes in the 04 & up pipes are in the slipons so that's not a huge hurdle.

Thanks Mreed, I'll have to dig out the old pipes from the shed to see the crosover you are talking about, It's been 3 years since I put eyes on them. So this crossover tube needs to be cut off and the holes sealed? How would you mount the pipes since that's also doubles as the mount point like you said?

Thanks again
Nathan
