Default Speedo Relocation question...

I was speaking to one of the guys at the stealership, and he told me if I were to mess around with the speedo(put it on the side like some of ya'll have it) it voids the warranty. Any of ya'll had a problem with this? I was unaware of it voiding my warranty. Makes me think twice about relocating it, but damn i hate how it looks. Any advice my fellow riders?

The only warranty it could possibly void is the speedo warranty and even then only if the relocation casued the fault directly.
Don't let them scare you with the "void the warranty" BS.

Tell him he's stupid and you know smarter people on this forum. If he went to college he could have had a "real" job. Loser.

Agreed. Any future issue would have to be proven to be a direct result of your modification. So, have a good time movin' it!

The only warranty it might void is the speedo if it was to go bad, but they cannot void the warranty on the whole bike. I hate when dealers are liek that.

Why do you say that? Do you mean because it is relocated?...or in general?

I have mine hard mounted to the front downtube (07' Nightster) and 20k miles later no issues yet.

To the OP....if my dealer said that, well first I would say exactly what the other guys have said, they have to prove the relocation was the reason for the failure. Secondly, I would find another dealer to do business with if I could.
