Default help with tank lift

Im getting ready to do a tank lift on / wire tuck on my 2010 Iron, I already maxed out my wires running new T-bars, would I have to stretch them even more doing a wire tuck or would I gain slack?

Also what is a good length for the lift? 1 1/2"... what are the effects on the fuel? Do I just lose the bottom portion of the tank? How much is that on a 3.3 gl. Peanut tank?

If there is any other info I should know before I get started please send it my way,

Thanks again guys!

With a 2.5" tank lift(from Licks) on my 08' Nightster (3.3 gal tank) I was able to put 3.11 gal. My tank was completely dry (paint job) and the bike was on his kickstand when I filled it.

Licks Tank Lift Kit:

It's well made and it doesn't look cheap!

You should gain a little slack in the wires with a wire tuck.

Here are a couple of good links to some info, pics & video on wire tucks...the video is NSFW

With a 1.5" lift you might lose about 1/8 gallon usable capacity.

I pickt up sum hardware from Home Depot and did mine about 4 inches. Your not really gonna loose fuel capacity but your idiot light may come on more often then normal. Mine dose because its not an inch, plus you there is an element inside your tank that needs to stay submerged in fuel or you will burn it out. Good luck on your project and I can't wait to see how she turns out.
