I wear a ff helmet and anything other than in helmet speakers or ear buds are useless for me. Once I realized I couldn't hear sirens over the sound of exhaust and wind buffeting anyway I just started wearing earbuds

i took the pads off a cheap set of earbuds and doctored-up some foam earplugs to fit over them. its kinda time consuming to bore a hole through foam but worth it when they seal up.

get some parachute pants, checkered vans, tie a bandanna around your knee and ride your boom box. zippers on your jacket almost complete the ensemble. loose a glove.

I've worn more damn parachute pants & bandanas on my legs than anyone on here! VH was once my idol.

Bluetooth helmet system with wireless tunes from your smartphone is my preference (Cardo Scala Rider G4).
Like others said, having someone pull up next to you at a traffic light with speakers blaring is obnoxious, IMO.

Do they make bluetooth speakers that dont need a brick mounted to the side of your helmet? I know they make some pretty small bluetooth ear pieces for phones I just dont get why the helmet versions need a cinder block on the side of your head.

i can hear Mine at 70mph highway speeds I believe because of the Windshield ( which I know won't fly for a 48 ) otherwise without the sheild it sounds like Charley Brown's parents WAWAWAWAWA.......WVleo

speakers on your 48 dude? head to the dealer and trade it in for a BT with a nice big stupid fairing and windshield to go along with it. why would you want to do this? you're more interested in listening to music when you're riding than actually soaking it all in and enjoying the ride not to mention paying attention? do you take a boom box with you too when you go fishing? lol.
might as well.....

I put a speaker set up on my 883 c moved it to my deluxe 2 weeks ago. Great set up small but powerful speakers in chrome or black. Has a radio and can play mp3. It is called extreme cycle radio. We got two in sturgis one for my sporty one for hubby's road king. Just under300. Can hear it great on both bike now tested on three bikes from the deluxe. I even ride with a full face. http://www.extremecycleradio.com/. I do ride with a windshield.
