The best you are going to get is 1.25" center to center ... this will give you about 3/16" to 1/4" clearance below the speedometer housing. I used chrome acorns on both top and bottom. I also had some of the washers from the HD tank bolt kit that I used on the top. It is a subtle difference, but you can still tell.

My lift is 4 inches. I just need to take sum time and relocate my coil an tuck my wires under the tank. My tank actually isn't even on the frame, so I have plenty of room to stuff them there.

Lift the tank or not, hide the speedo or not, I guess its up to the owner and what ever they want to do to the bike. Its just like I see how sum guys set ther bars and I think if you have apes you should roll them forward not backward, but I guess we all have our opinions. Lets just have a beer or two and fow gettah bowt it!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I think I'm going to do the coil/ignition relocate and hold off on the tank lift for now. I'm gonna take my tanks bolts out and do some looking and see what kind of clearances are there, but it looks like in order to do a
1 1/2" lift or more, I'm gonna need to get some different bars with a different speedo location.

I would like to have some mini apes, but I like the comfort of the stock set-up so I'm knda torn on this. I also like the looks of the Nightster 3.3 tank, but would hate to give up the capacity of my 4.5, so that's another option is doing a Nightster tank swap. Guess I'll start with the relocate and go from there.

Again, thanks for your input and all the pics!

Just more reason to love Sporties....the options are limitless!
