Here's some pics of the fenders. I'm waiting between coats now on the tank. Decided to give it a little rougher texture than the front forks. Before...

And now...

Rustoleum Satin Black spray bomb. I've done a lot of automotive projects with it such as stripes and hood accents, and it's held up really nice. I did the front fork lowers with it as they were really chewed up when I got the bike, and it's held up on them for the last 5k with a lot of sand on the roads around here. The tank is done now, just have to let it cure for a couple of days before installing it. Cant wait to get it back on the road. Bike night this Sat!

My wife's favorite color is purple. She came home tonight, looked at the bike, and said, "wow, that looks nice... and clean!" I wasn't expecting that.

Very nice! dont under value your time. $15 labor and materials seems a little cheap for such a good job.
helmet to match?

I have about 4 hours total in it so far and all I have to do is bolt on the tank. The paint was about 15 bucks. It's a labor of love after all... Didn't think about the helmet, but I am now.

Yeah, sorry floowmatt, the weather here is great right now. 76 deg and clear. I feel for you guys who have to sit and wait till winter moves on. Just remember, with the nice weather comes the snow birds who left their brain up north and they're driving around down here.
I'll get some pics up in a couple of days of the finished product.
