I'm pretty positive, that all 3/4 helmets, will make my head, look a little "Great Gazoo-ish"
I have a Bell 500 (matte black). I just received a Lick's NovDot (gloss black).
Here's my comparison:
The Bell 500, looks really fancy, and the quality, seems very well made. However the fit is really mushroomy on my head.
I have a fat face.... the size of the BELL, TOTALLY accentuates the fattness of my fat face.
I just received the Lick's NovDot yesterday.
I live in Canada. It's supposed to be a nasty winter. I decided to take my bike off the road because of this. I have NOT taken the Lick's for a ride yet.
From a fit and look point of view, the Lick's, fits me much nicer than the Bell.
It is noticeably LESS, GREAT GAZOO, on my head.
My wife assures me that, the Lick's does not make me look as funny as the Bell does. WTF does that mean?
As long as the Lick's does not lift too much... and as long as the Lick's NovDot doesn't prove to be less safer than the other 3/4 's on the market, then I am pretty sold on this helmet.
The helmet is light. It sits low on the head. The quality of the straps, liner and D-ring, do feel less, than that of the Bell. But as I said, as long as reviews and forums don't prove the that the safety of the NovDot is an issue, I don't need the NovDot to be fancy.
I've read from others on this forum, about long shitty delivery times, because of supply.
I can tell you that they were on par with my order. Two weeks.
The customer service was great. A.J. of Lick's, was awesome.
I PREFER A TIGHT FIT ON MY HELMET.
I wear a meduim Bell.
According to the Lick's NovDot Size chart, I was supposed to have ordered an XL... I spoke to a.j. of Lick's before I ordered... and he talked me into ordering a large. I'm glad he did.
IF the helmet is as safe as the others, and rides nice....then I am sold.
I'm actually thinking of ordering a matte grey in medium. I really like this helmet so far.
Hope this helps someone.

Compared to a Licks DOT or the Biltwell DOT, the Bell 500 looks GINORMOUS on your head. Granted, the Bell 500 is very well made (the others aren't slouches) - but make no mistake - you'll look like a big giant mushroom in the Bell, and they tend to lift.

Licks > Biltwell > Fulmer > Bell - in terms of size/fit.

Protection from any 3/4 DOT will be similar enough.

One of my helmets is a Z1R 3/4 and I find it very comfortable. Full DOT and Snell rated without looking like Darth Vader.
