Default Thinking of changing colors

My tins are really starting to collect scratches and dings and I was thinking of a "budget" paint job. I've used Rustoleum satin black for a number of projects, mostly automotive throughout the years, and it seems to hold up really well. I did my fork lowers with it cause they were so eaten up when I got the bike, and it's holding up well there. Almost looks like the black denim on the newer Harleys because of the technique I use when I spray it. (rough "overspray" finish then hand buffed with an old piece of denim.) What you guys think about doing the tank and fenders in it? Might contrast nice with the gloss black on the frame and swingarm, and the chrome. Here's a pic of my front fork lowers.

Wow, forks look great. I like the black look and I do think the contrast between the satin, gloss and chrome might look great. Why not give it a go?

Yeah, I was kind of worried about that, so I took a rag with fuel on it and rubbed the fork where I painted it. No problem. I imagine with it being enamel, if it were soaked in fuel for a while, it would start to soften, but as far as spills out of the neck while fueling, I don't think there's a problem.

If it will hold up, why not? I think it'll look super clean.

I pretty well dead set on doing it, just trying to plan for a few days that I won't want to ride. I can't seem to do that although fate may have just forced my hand. I have a lower pushrod tube seal leaking and will have to tear into that, so I may have to put the bike up for a little while. Maybe do the heads, cams, .... somebody stop me.
