Default Any Body Know when these are coming out for a Sportster?

I am waiting for HD to come out with one of these for a sportster, I emailed HD about a month ago, they would not tell me if these are coming or not, If they dont come out with them this year I'll probably end up getting the dakota digital unit for the sportster.

the kick in the groin is they've had these for every other HD bike for years but still dont have it for the sportsters.

It cost about $400 to put a plain analog tach on while these digital units are only $250 - $300.

What are you wanting, the speedo/tach combo in 1 housing? Harley had that for a couple of years but its not listed in the 2011 P/A wishbook, so I think they dropped it.

I just responded to this same statement on the VTX board. Told him yeah, Honda has perfectly balanced opposing cylinders on their Wings and shaft drive on almost all their bikes. Course, HD had that too...........70 years ago. They build what sells, hard to argue with market share.

That would be crazy for them to develop something and then stop producing it 2 years later. Does anyone know if this is true?

I like the HD units because they are analog and they change colors and they are less than $300.

I've been riding motorcycles and driving manual transmission cars since the 60's and I've never understood what purpose, other than satisfying curiousity, a tachometer serves. I don't need it to tell me when to up or down shift or to know when I am revving too high.

To me Harley is, and always has been, about clean, simple and solid, not fancy gadgets. (Probably why I ride a Sporty.)

I've been riding for less than a year and even I can hear and feel when it redlines.
