Default Service Hours to Install Forward Controls

Anyone know how many service hours for a dealer to install forward controls on a Sporty?

I would guess 1.5, but just a wag...

Thanks

You would spend less just buying the necessary tools and doing it yourself. That is if you didn't already have them.

Depends on how fast you can read the manual & instructions + if you've got the right tools...

You at home, not knowing how to do it and figuring it out, maybe 1.5 hours..the dealership 4-6 hours min. Do it yourself, end the mind numbing madness.

If you are going to ride your bike, Then you should get to know a little bit about how it works. Trust me, like these other guy's said.... Do it yourself. You will be glad you did. To answer your question the dealer usually charges 2 hours.

Thanks. I've been riding awhile...just don't like to wrench.

Good to know it's not that tough to tackle though.

I bought my forwards when i bought my bike, but they wanted me to leave the bike and pick it up the next day. NO WAY. It was my first brand new bike and my first Harley. I've had Honda's my whole life which I have done quite a few mods on, so I wasn't afraid to wrench a little. The night i got it I put them on, I was a little nervous of scratching something, but 1 hour later I was loving my forwards...... Good luck what ever you do.

When I got my bike I wanted forward,s but I could never justify spending $400 on the controls. I stayed with the mids and I am glad I did. If you really want (or need) forwards. Save the money and install them yourself. I know you can do it. If you do have the dealer install them, make sure you get your take-off parts. The dealer will sell them and make even more money off of you.

Default do it yourself fitting forwards

I am a dummy with mechanical things, had company cars most of my life, so never touched cars. Then ten years ago giving up work i learnt a bit , bit by bit and fitted my forward controls in about 1.5 hours. on mine. Nice and slow and you know its done securely, bit of blue loctite, and the wonderful feeling of knowing youve done it. easy for some of these guys but to a novice a bit scary I`d agree. But as another said well within your capabilities. And you havent given the stealers the money....nice feeling....
