I'm having a problem with the quick release on the tank it's leaking fuel when i hook up the line anyone have this problem? Is this going to be buy a new part? (2007 1200xlc)
Make sure the quick disconnect is pushed back all the way. When the connection is made be sure the coupler is is pulled all the way back down. It should click when connected right.
the fuel also comes out when the key is in the run position or engine runs, I have made sure that it is connected and I have heard the click everytime I have connected or disconnected it everytime.
Sounds like the o-ring in the coupling is bad. Mine seemed kind of difficult to push on all the way. Maybe try a bit of silicone grease (o-ring lubricant) on the tank side fitting. I would also get a small flashlight and inspect the inside of the hose end for dirt or a damaged seal.
the botom o-ring is probably bad ..all of the above advice except the one that asked if you are pluggin it in correctly apply's..
HD will try to sell you a "fitting" or if that fails then the "fuel line ..(100+ bucks)
Hint:..the o-ring cost about a buck , or a buck fifty..
the O-ring that hd sells for the oil drain plug is a perfect fit ...
I purchased a new fuel line because of it splitting and leaking from jpcycles, this is the second one I purchased. So i dont think its the fuel line Tried the vasoline thing, and checked everything it looked ok but when i hooked it up it started spewing gas again this time like a faucett was turned on. The Harley store said the quick release is 54.00, I am at the point of purchasing this part....
