Default Front Brake Light

Hey all,

Recently got some time to catch up on maintenance for my bike, and while doing so I noticed that I have no brake lights while pulling the front brake. Not sure if this is new or has been going on for months...I don't admire my own rear while in motion.

All other lights/electrical works fine, so my question is how likely is the front brake switch to go faulty or be bad?

The switch plunger itself is not broken (as is a common error), and it engages/disengages fully as it is supposed to when the lever is pulled.

I'll get out the multi-meter and test the switch when I get some time later this weekend after I get a couple of other bikes done just to be sure, but I'd hate to buy and solder in a new switch if it is something simple I'm missing.

I also dinged my tank with a ratchet as well....just a lovely night for me. Thanks for listening to me vent and I appreciate any information you have.

It is VERY likely that the front brake light switch is bad. Those things will break if you just look at them hard.
