Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm not sure why mine is having a problem but they are super helpful getting it resolved and the parts are very well made which is why I went with them. And as always I drool at your bike every time I see it. I just wish Rene wasn't so busy so I could get some more things done but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

 

^^^they have great customer service. thank you for the kind words man. i put a lot of my own time into it so it's rewarding to hear that other people dig it. rene did the fender for me a while ago, then the bars and then i wanted the tank done. he told me he was just too busy at the time so i used the peanut i had and said f-it. i like how it turned out so i'm gonna rock what i got for a little while. cheers!

 

Hey Bmx, first off...your bike is totally badass! I love it! I've been into the CO style for some time now too. Having a difficult time getting ahold of Rene to make me a tank. I received one reply back from him a few weeks ago saying he might be able to make it but nothing since then. How do you guys get work done by him? I guess in the mean time I'll have to chop up and weld my stock tank for a better look.

Btw, how do you have your idle running so low on that efi bike? It sounds great!

 

Don't do anything to your tank as it will not benefit you in the long run. He uses your stock tank as the "core" so to speak and shapes it from there. He mainly gets back to you best if you email him. If you go on chop cult you can find his email in his market place thread.

He is a bit busy I believe at the moment but the wait is well worth it as well as the cost.

 

Ranalli thank you so much dude. Rene is easy to get a hold of. He's always busy though. That's reason why I worked with what I had. He told me flat out he's swamped and I didn't feel like waiting. Maybe next winter. Did nothing with the idle bro. With an efi you don't want to really mess with that. All I changed was the intake and the pipes.

What size tank do you have now? 3.3? Trade someone for a 48 tank. That's what I did. Love the peanuts.

 

Yup I have a 3.3 gal tank. I do like the peanut tanks but I don't like how the stock tanks sit high in the rear. It has become even more noticeable ever since I removed a bunch of stuff from the bike.

I'm looking for a tank that mounts into the backbone as well, instead of having the side mounting tabs. I see alot of companies make the tank I'm looking for but only for carbed bikes. I guess if it comes down to it, I'll get one of those tanks and do some cutting and weld in an efi plate.

 

You just need to weld the appropriate length/diameter round bar to the top of the backbone up front, and drill through the backbone at the rear to have the other tank mounts...I'm sure someone makes a "kit". I'm running a LowBrow 2 gal. on my 06 like that.

 

Hey Jackal, can you post a picture of your tank so I can get a better idea of what you're describing?

I was thinking I would just drill a hole in the front and rear backbone, then weld in some bungs. The tanks in the picture have the mounting style I'm looking for. It would be perfect if I could find a similar style tank with an efi plate already installed like in the second pic.
