you have to feel bad for her shes 70 just imagine how many idiotic men shes met in her life hahaha no doubt one of them told her that a small harley was not a real Harley ( as he pointed to his big v twin ) in an attemt to pick her most likely he lacked any other appeal and could only use his "big v twin" to try to get her attention and for some reason what he said stuck in her mind

I've wanted a Harley since I was 18. I'm 39 now and just bought my first Harley not to long ago. Of course it is a 1200 Sporty. Now I'm finding out that I don't actually own a Harely. Well this just really sucks. Guess I have to tell the wife I need to buy another bike.

 

to add to this I heard a dyna is not a harley either but guess what we have the emblems and receipts to proove different. so im guessing dyna and sportsters are like brother and sisters. or brother and brother idk just saying lol.

I wouldn't call that a real Harley either. It's clearly from Hell.

At any rate, I always take the "girl's bike" and "not real Harley" comment with a grain of salt, then ride off on a motorcycle that makes me happy to be on the road. No reason to stoop to their level. If you're on two wheels with a motor, you're okay in my book.

 

The Sportster is a Harley-Davidson through-and-through. It IS what a motorcycle should be. All the other models are simply middle-aged and out of their prime, and are really Sportsters with beer bellies!

Backstory: I am a long time lurker and this thread prompted me to sign up. I own a 01 1200 Custom that works for me, for now. Family that I ride with have road kings, street glides, dynas and a Gixxer (not even getting into that one). I get **** from all of them yet my bike is quicker and louder than any of em.

Storytime: Not too long ago I came across a murdered sporty that looked mean even when parked. Its license plate cover read "Your Mom". At the time it just sounded cool but this thread sparked a thought on how that murdered sporty owner could reply to the "that's a girls bike!".

What I imagine he would say- You're damn right its a girl bike, [pointing to the Your Mom plate] I ride Your Mom till the sun comes up!
