This weekend task # 1 is to get my Rocker reassembled. Task #2 post pics. Then clean up the shop and make room for the Nightster I bought my wife last week. I have a wide glide front end with 3 degrees rake and some new wheels/tires coming for hers. Ill post pics when it is done. Came across this when I was looking for fat front tires/ends on Nightsters.

Was about 40 degrees here yesterday so I rolled the bike outside and started it up. Old battery is still going strong and she fired up immediately. [NOTE: I never heard back from Alien Motion about their battery almost completely melting down inside the battery compartment of my bike. I even sent them the pictures. No response. I would not recommend them or their product.] Let the bike run for 15 minutes. Even took it for a very short spin around the parking lot before putting it away. Really itching to ride again...

Nothing great. I plan to be in the shop tomorrow and I'll try to remember to take some close ups. Here's the best I have:


The brake and clutch cables simply go down through the triangular cut out in the upper triple clamp and then down the left side of the frame. The brake cable then splits off to the front wheel and the clutch cable continues down the frame tube curling back under the left side of the engine to the clutch. Nothing fancy.

Thanks. I'm running 6" risers with keystones so my brake is a little tight. Hopefully it will work out. Do you have it bolted to the tree at all? Haven't looked at my bike in a minute but isn't factory bolted to the lower then a hook on top tree? Thanks again. Btw I'm just around the corner in Latham.

 

Just got home from work and checked out the bike. Held with bolt at bottom of stem and the Vulcan kit is tapped as well. Your build has been an awesome journey. Great work.

 

Thanks Lilbush. I decided not to use the stock brake line and clutch cable so I didn't use the attachment point on the bottom of the stem. I thought about trying to keep the stock brake line but just couldn't make it work right with the wide glide clamps and the additional rake. The way they run now the only thing they're attached to is the frame down tube. Works well though.

Can't wait for some warm weather around here.
