Default Front Fork

Just wondering if a front fork from a 07 Harley Davidson XL1200R Roadster will fit a 2006 XL 883 sportster custom? Any suggestions for other years and or models of front forks/triple tress that would fit my sportster. One of my steering stops is broken off so looking to replace it.

Any triple tree 04 & up. Actually, any 39mm triple tree will work but the 03 & older will have a fork lock ear you don't need and you'll need to use a 1/8" washer between the trees & bearings BUT; if you drill a small hole straight down through the center of the broken fork stop, and then one through the good fork stop, shave them both down with a file, drill & tap the holes you drilled for a decent sized allen bolt you can use the ones you have now.

Thank you for your reply. I am definitly looking to replace and not repair. To purchase a fork/triple tree from the dealer is expensive, so I am looking for one that is used but in good shape. So any XL 883, XL 1200, 883 Custom, 1200 Custom, 883L, 1200L, and Roadster from the 2004 to 2011 model years will do? Thank you. Any information is a great help.

The Roadster has the eyebrow headlight arrangement. I don't think the bottom triple clamp is drilled for the Custom headlight mount. Easy enough to remedy. You'll simply need to drill a hole.

I think that will work. As stated there might be some slight changes needed to be made. But, not all forks from 04 and up are interchangeable. For example...some of the Low models have shorter forks.
