Haven't had any trouble with any pegs I've put on my bike. Direct replacement for the ones I put on.

I've got old school pegs on my 48. Grinding the clevis only takes about 5 minutes and your good to go. I ground mine down and powder coated them black to match the mounts. I also cut off the factor brake peg and made my own brass peg to match the rest of the pegs

BTW I love the 48 and the nightster . they are actually two of my favorite bikes in the HD stable. Be sure and sit on them both and ride them both if you can find a dealer who will let you. If you don't know which one to buy... get the one that fits the best. Both can be modded out to be very cool . If I had the cash id be happy to buy a 48. Never seen one for rent before but if you can find one that is an option too , might help you figure out which one you want pretty fast.

i dunno if its been said already but...pipes. atleast put some different pipes and a stage one kit. the 48 is fairly quiet with stock pipes.

I would go nightster. Bigger tank, normal looking front wheel, and better seat make it a winner. However, don't take my word for it go test ride them and decide for yourself.
