What happened to the good ole days...When being a Harley rider was a symbol of INDIVIDUAL choice, and a statement of freedom, in addition to all the fun.
If you can't decide which bike you want, why would you ask the option of thousands of people you have never even met????
Geeeze
I think you should look at a Huffy.

I don't blame the OP for looking for some additional opinions. He came to a good place. It being his first bike, there are things that are known to guys here that he may never think of when comparing the two. Luckily when I was going to buy my first bike I had someone to ask a million questions to. What is the difference between this and that? Why does that matter? etc...
As for the original question... If it's your first bike then you're probably not comfortable renting the bikes to really tell the difference. Sit on them and if one doesn't really stand out to you then go with the one that looks better. After you get some experience you'll mod it to what you really like.

I like the nightster paint jobs more tehen the 48's. The thicker front tire use to be cool to me until i got a custom. I like the skinny tires thugh. why not get a custom? the new customs have the bike tank, big front end and tire and stock forward controls. most bang for your buck right there
