Do you always ask people what you should buy? In my mind I make my own decisions after I research the product I'm going to purchase. And if you would do some research you would find out what each bike has to offer and what would be best suited for you. Not trying to be a a$$ or anything but read up on the bikes or something before you ask questions like this. Because all the answers you're going to get is like Pagan's above in saying, yeah I like my nightster or 48 and you're not going to get a desirable answer.

Damn it! I've been doing the opposite! Your approach would have saved me so much churn. Plus, you have your bike.

I just paid a visit to the HD website and had a good look at every Sportster. I think I'm going to keep my XL1200R forever.
Personal preference and opinion indeed, but the only bike that comes with brakes and offers better leaning angle (and has tach) is XR and it looks like the first inevitable mod has to be getting rid of that rear fender. And exhaust looks terrible. 48 looks like a bike but has no brakes.

As I said, it's personal opinion. There is no way single rotor front brake could satisfy my riding habits.

How did you know?
Actually, not that bad, stock Dunlop was completely bald after 15k. Considering I used to lock it up all the time it lasted pretty well. OTOH, using the bike for commute in heavy traffic I didn't have the chance to abuse it too often.
