Default RE: auto clutch

I agree, thumb's down. Might work for a complete nube, my kids 80cc dirt bike had an auto clutch. Teaches the little ones how to shift without worring about stalling at the start. On a Harley it looks like an accident waiting to happen. Just think about this. You are sitting at a stoplight, and the bike stumbles a little. Maybe not warmed up enough. What is your first reaction? Twist the throttle! Guess what, you will have just launched yourself into the intersection.
Now, if you are the type of rider with Zero skills, but just need to be seen around town on your Harley, ie a RUB, then the price of this contraption is a non issue.

I don't know that much about the 'auto tranny' feature, but don't you still have a clutch cable and lever to totally disengage everything?

Default RE: auto clutch

I have sold about 300 autoclutches over the past 4 years, Grandeur won the Vtwin Tech Product of the year with this last year. I will tell you this, on big inch bikes, with open primary's and monster clutch packs these things are awesome. The other thing about the autoclutch other than the convience of not having to sit in traffic and hold your clutch in, and yes you can find neutral, if you bike isnt hot, I have had at least 10 road kings and every damn one of them was a pain to find neutral, anyway, the harder you hit the throttle the tighter the clutch engages, no better hole shot with any clutch except true drag clutches, the other thing is they make burn outs really really easy. Dont knock what you havent tried, cause they work, they are a performance enhancer, and in traffic, nothing is easier, but that is just my .02 cents worth from selling them, installing them, and riding the hell out of them. The harley clutches are expensive because you have to replace the whole clutch basket, we usually just sell the customer a bdl open belt, and a autoclutch for it for about the same price.

The Rekluse Clutch assy is a great product....

Our shop just fabbed up an XL for a guy that had a stroke, and no use in Rt hand or leg, limited use in left leg.....

Auto clutch, Left throttle, biased brakes and a Voyager Kit, and a Grey Beard is back in the wind......

This thing is a hoot to ride, and quite the runner....

As Shooter stated, Don't knock what you aint tried.....

Here is a true value for .... Keeping in the wind.......

Got one, and put it on my KTM 525. Didn't know if I would like it, but I do.
I use the bike just like I did. Of course, if I forget to pull the C at a stop.
She kicks in idle. Works great and can't tell the differents. I can still pop
the C and smoke the back wheel. Wonder how it would work on my
Sportster. If anyone puts in on one, let me know. I can see the plus and not
a draw back.
