It's as simple as draining the old oil and adding the new. You'll find a lot of arguments over what oil/what brand etc., but as long as you use the correct viscosity and something that is OK on a wet clutch in the primary you'll be fine.
I personally use Mobile 1 15W-50 (the auto stuff) in my engine, and M1 V-Twin in the primary/tranny.
A lot of guys like the M1 75W-90 Gear Oil in their tranny as well.
Amsoil and Redline are popular as well.

Just use whatever you have confidence in. I like red line in the tranny and primary and red-line/amsoil in engine. When the weather gets cooler I use a 5w-50 (fall/spring) so the oil gets moving quicker but swap it out as ambient temps increase.
There is a massive debate about oil here. Synthetic lasts longer and keeps your motor cooler but no engine blew up on conventional either. If you want to spend less time changing oil and more time riding use synth every 5000 or so miles. Conventional don't push past 3000 miles.

Well cameraboy the second number of the 2 numbers on oil is the viscosity at operating temp. That's the number that matters. The first number is viscosity when freezing which bikes rarely see. So in the spring/fall you run a 5w-50 and benefit from the oil moving up to the top end quicker and a 15w-50 or 20w-50 in the summer when oil being cold is a non issue.
