You can use synthetic oil for break-in. In fact, there is not much difference how regular and synthetic lubricate at working temperatures.
A good reading about oils and a little mythbusting.

I was going to say the same thing as Von_Zipper. It's perfectly fine to use synthetic over break in if you want. Mobile 1 synthetic is a factory fill for S&S as well as all these cars:
Acura RDX
Aston Martin DB9, DB9 Volante, DBS, DBS Volante, Virage, Virage Volante, Rapide
All Bentley Vehicles
Chevrolet CR8
Chevrolet Corvette
Citröen DS3
Holden HSV
Mercedes AMG
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
Nissan GT-R
Opel Insignia
Peugeot RCZ
Porsche
Saab 9-3 TTiD
Vauxhall VXR8
Viper Motorcycles
They all seem to do fine using synthetic on break in.
