Any damage to a integral part of the bike should be replaced immediately. I know the bars probably weren't cheap but its not worth your life finding out one day, so yeah + 1,000,000 to the people that said replace them.

Yes, after all the advice, I've decided to replace them. Or maybe I'll get back to drag or z bars for the time being. My whole rear lever is scruffed, are there any aftermarket part for this? And front brake lever too. My brake reservoir and mirrors are also scruffed, not sure if I'm gonna replace them or just spray over black.

Ask around on the forum here. If you are talking about stock brake/clutch levers, lots of people replace those with chrome, and have the stock levers just laying around in the garage.

Glad to hear that you're ok and that the Sporty only suffered minor damage. I'm with everyone else here - replace the handlebars. Why take unnecessary chances with your life?

Sorry to hear of your spill - been there, done that (intentionally) to avoid an idiot who pulled out in front of me. I am glad to hear you've decided to replace the bars. They're not that expensive and they will restore integrity to a key portion of your bike. I personally would never try to straighten bars - simply not worth the risk "down the road".

Thanks all for the advice. My heat shields are badly scratched. Anybody have any suggestions what I can do about them? I'm thinking ceremic coating them black.
