Default Metzler Tires ROCK!!

I was just reminded how damn good Metzler tires are.

One of our main Interstates that circle around Nashville was resurfaced a few years ago, and is concrete grooved. I just went around town on that road riding my recently acquired Ultra Classic, which has the stinkin Dunlop tires. I've been running Metzler tires for so long, I had totally forgotten about how bikes will track back and forth on those surfaces.

Geeze, at first I thought I had a tire going flat, or something was loose on the bike. Then I remembered.....Grooved surface, Dunlop tires. Nuff said!!!

What model?

Just like Dunlop, Metz makes everything from very mediocre tires to very very good tires.

One might look at the D404 and think that all Dunlops are junk, having never had the joy of doing a trackday on a set of Dunlop Qualifiers.

Its really about model more than brand, imho.

I just got Metzelers' Marathon 880 put on my bike and I really, really like them. I cannot compare with other brands/models, I'm just saying that I am very satisfied with the Metz.

Well, I have had numerous opportunities to ride on a milled and grooved portion of the Beltway after putting in the Progressive fork springs, and the wandering/tracking scenario vanished; I have replaced the rear tire with the Dunlop and still have the original front (though soon to be replaced).

I keep hearing the same model of Metz being mentioned. I guess that'll be my next tire.

Got the 880's on my bike (along with Progressive front and rear) and they are great.

I just got a rear and front ME880 made in Brazil. I hope they're not going to come apart anytime soon. Regardless of that, they work damn well.
