how about using a light coat of matching ColorRite Black Denim spray paint?... it is not cheap, but if you want to maintain your Denim paint looking good, then you better have something around to touch-up the paint .. you can scratch up the Denim finish if you look at it hard enough.. :-) ... I remember doing this (re-coating an small area with ColorRite) a loong time ago and it worked fine...
